	recycled plastic roof slates These tiles have been much sought after by eco builders, and have just become available again after a two year gap - the German factory closed down in 2005 but the equipment was bought by new owners and thankfully has now been put into production again. Made from recycled plastics (52%) and kaolin clay (48%), these dark grey slates are fairly rigid, similar in flexibility to 6mm ply wood. Each tile is 240mm by 380mm, 30 slates per square metre. Tile thickness is 4.5mm, giving a relatively light weight roof - approx 450g per tile (13.5 kg per square metre). Fixing system is conventional - nail through slate into wooden battens (pre-drilling not required). Guarantee: 10 years, life expectancy at least 30 years, after which colour loss may occur but the slate should stay structurally intact. Samples available (see below). Price is per square metre (30 slates). Delivery time: usually 5 working days, but please check with us first if delivery date is crucial. The ridge tiles overlap lengthways.
