one-day course

natural soaps

location: nr Bath, NE Somerset

In this course we will make a batch of soap from scratch using vegetable oils and other ingredients.  You will learn how to create lovely colourful soaps using molds from recycled materials. We’ll talk about the equipment needed and options for type, colour, shape and scent.

In the afternoon we will be felting soaps previously made.  Using merino wools in a gorgeous array of colours you’ll learn how to wet felt and also create detailed designs with needle felting directly onto the soap bars.  Felted soaps are a wonderful idea, a soap and scrubby in one!  An idea whose time has come they are already very popular in the States.

Tutor Dharmaja has been making and using homemade soaps for about 15 years.
