residential weekend course

introduction to permaculture

venue: Redfield Community, Bucks

'Permaculture is a design system for sustainable living on earth that benefits all creatures whilst supplying the needs of humanity' Geoff Lawton

Permaculture designs not merely for sustaining life, it designs for the abundance of life - maximising available resources to all living organisms. Permaculture provides one of the most far reaching methods of achieving a positive future for both humans and the natural environment of which we are a part.

Introduction to permaculture design is suited to anyone interested in exploring how to apply principles of sustainability to their lives. No prior knowledge or experience of permaculture or gardening is required for this course, all are welcome.

This weekend will introduce permaculture as a contemporary model for realising the potential of the ecological human being, we will explore how permaculture can help us to embody sustainable design through working in harmony with natural systems.

This course will teach the ethics, principles and design methods of permaculture alongside the practical application in the garden environment. There will be plenty of group discussions and activities creating a circle-of-learning with an abundance of accumulated wisdom.

By the end of the course, participants will have been intimately introduced to permaculture design, whilst receiving plenty of practical tuition in applied permaculture within the garden. These teachings will prove invaluable to anyone seeking to understand how we as human beings can embody more sustainable lifestyles.

This course is facilitated by David Parry, permaculture earth-steward working towards his diploma in Applied Permaculture Design.
