by bicycle
There is a good cycle track as far as Claughton from Lancaster but the last stretch up the hill requires strong legs and low gears!

by car:
from the north or south

From North or South it is best to leave the M6 at junction 34, Lancaster North, and take the A683 north-east heading towards Kirkby Lonsdale. After the village of Claughton turn right on the B6480 towards Bentham and Wray. At the first junction (crossroads) turn right up the hill, follow the road to the first cattle grid. After the cattle grid we are the first track on the left, go slowly down the track to the car park under the wind turbine.

from the east
If coming from the East from Clapham on the A65 take the B6480 to Bentham. Follow this road to Wray then turn left in the centre of the village. Take the first right just before the post office. At the next junction turn left, go over the cattle grid and take the first track on the left, go slowly down the track to the car park under the wind turbine.
