by public transport
Silkstone Common station is on the Sheffield-Huddersfield line; trains are approximately one per hour. Come down the steps in front of the station onto Knabbs Lane, and turn right. Follow the road for around 400 metres until you come to Westfield Park Equestrian Centre on the left. Follow signs to reception. There will be someone there to meet you. If you cycle or bring your bike on the train, there will be somewhere to keep it during the course.
by car
Nabs Wood is 3 miles from Junction 37 of the M1. Plenty of parking.
from the M1
Exit at Junction 37 and take the A628 towards Manchester. The new road takes you through the Fall Industrial Estate and past the Bluebell Hotel. Carry on past Silkstone on your right hand side. You will hit 30mph signs when approaching the Silkstone crossroads and garage. Turn left into Cone Lane (signposted Silkstone Common). Go up the hill, under the railway bridge to the crossroads at the Station Inn, Silkstone Common. Turn right into Knabbs Lane. Westfield Park Equestrian Centre is half a mile from the Station Inn on the left. Park up and follow signs to reception. Someone will be there to meet you.
from the west
Follow the A628 signposted Barnsley. Pass Hoylandswaine on your left down the hill. You pass through 40mph signs, then 30mph signs and you come to a garage on your right. Turn right into Cone Lane (signposted Silkstone Common). Go up the hill, under the railway bridge to the crossroads at the Station Inn, Silkstone Common. Turn right into Knabbs Lane. Westfield Park Equestrian Centre is half a mile from the Station Inn on the left. Park up and follow signs to reception. Someone will be there to meet you.
local accommodation
Accommodation is not provided at Nabs Wood, but there is a campsite 3 miles away at Rockley Bottom, Birdwell, there are plenty of good-value local B&Bs, and course participants can stay at nearby Wentworth Castle if there are spaces available.
