Train to Harrogate, then no. 36 bus to Ripon. No bus to Old Sleningford, but if you call the number above, they will arrange to pick everyone up from Ripon bus station.
by bicycle
You can cycle from the nearest train station (Thirsk), 10 miles away. No dedicated cycle path, but you can follow the back roads - see map.

from Ripon
Follow the brown tourist signs for Lightwater Valley. Pass Lightwater Valley, go through North Stainley. On the other side of the village, take the second left signed to Mickley. Go down this road for 1 mile until you get to a stone wall on your right. Ignore the first turning in the wall, continue down the hill, turn right at the end of the wall on to the track with the Old Sleningford Farm sign on it.
from West Tanfield (north)
Head towards Ripon. Pass Sleningford Mill on the left. After about half a mile, turn right signed to Mickley. Go down this road for 1 mile until you get to a stone wall on your right. Ignore the first turning in the wall, continue down the hill, turn right at the end of the wall on to the track with the Old Sleningford Farm sign on it.
