Wholewoods course directions & other info

Kit List
To join us for this week you will need only normal camping gear. You are adviced to bring as many of the following as possible.  

  1. Waterproofs, warm layers, boots/outdoor shoes, gloves, hat
  2. Sleeping bag
  3. Light weight tent or similar sleeping equipment
  4. Insulated sleeping mat
  5. Cutlery, knife, spoon, fork, plate, bowl, mug
  6. Small water bottle
  7. Torch with fresh batteries. Also one spare set of batteries
  8. Wash kit and towel
  9. Personal toiletries and medication
  10. Note book and pencil
  11. Spare change of clothes
  12. Small day sac
  13. Strong outdoor work gloves
  14. One good story or joke for the campfire

Note: Please do not bring any outdoor knives or pen knives. We will provide these if needed. No dogs are allowed onsite as this is a SSSI and a working farm.

Arrival & Departure Info
It is best to arrive on Friday night to set up tents, get comfortable, have and evening meal and be able to have a relaxed start in the morning. On Friday night we will also have the introductions to the course. If there is no way for you to get here Friday night come as early as you can Saturday morning. We will start on Saturday morning after breakfast at 9.30. The course will finish around 4pm on Wednesday afternoon to allow time to travel home. You can of course leave earlier if you have to.

If you type Cherington lane into Google maps and zoom in you will see the wood yard just above the red lable on the right 

By car from the A433 turn up Cherington Lane towards Cherington. Our woodyard is 0.5 miles up Cherington Lane. The first turning on the left is to the Duchy Home Farm Veg Shed. The Woodyard is the next turning on the right. If you get as far as Cherington Forge or into Cherington itself you have gone too far. 

If coming by train, take a taxi from the Stroud train station which is 9 miles away.
