    Profile:

If you are interested in woodworking of any kind then my furniture making classes in Central London are a great place to start. Furniture making requires a fine attention to detail and quality craftsmanship that once learnt can be used for any project. I'll lay this on the table from the outset-I love woodwork! It is more than just a craft to me-its a way of life. Woodwork engages and develops mental and physical dexterity- you cant make something until you've designed it, and to design well you need to understand how to work the material. Ive been running furniture making classes for over three years now and I was awarded a high commendation for them at the craft skills awards in 2013, Prince Charles was there and everything! My workshop is a den of tools and wood where you can relax with the company of other interested people. Its hidden away at a lovely city farm in Islington and is easy to get to via Highbury and Islington, Holloway Road and Caledonian Road stations. Theres safe storage for bikes in the farmyard and even free parking after 6.30pm. My joinery course is the ideal starting point if you are a beginner. I offer a range of 3 other courses to introduce exciting new skills as you progress. These are the Milking stool course, Small boxes course and dovetail cabinet course. Its also possible to join a class and make your own project, by arrangement. See my website for more course details or check out the Tom Trimmins Woodwork Facebook page to see upcoming dates and to see what I'm making at the moment.
