timber frame building

location: nr Glandwr, Pembrokeshire

Get involved with a real eco-build and learn several essential eco-building skills. The build is a round-wood timber framed barn.

Course includes:

  • 5 days of hands on eco-building including ongoing Health & safety training
  • tour of the smallholding
  • what is Low Impact Development?
  • permaculture approach to land and building design

Also:

  • camping space in the young orchard or next to our willow coppice
  • time out to explore common areas of the 75-acre site
  • wood burning showers and bath
  • delicious organic vegetarian meals cooked on site each day
  • warm yurt to relax and socialise in each evening
  • firepit nearby to light and enjoy when the weather is fair
  • great company, and loads of new skills

waterproofs - both coat & trousers, tent, warm winter type clothes including a hat, as well as t-shirt & shorts (you never know what the weather will do!), steel-toed work boots, wellies, several pairs of warm socks, a towel, a torch, and only biodegradable soap/shampoos are allowed (we have a little shop here that sells these). musical instruments very welcome!
