one-day
course
kitchen gardening |
Fresh
vegetables, fruit and herbs are the tastiest and most nutritious
way to stay healthy. As people become more conscious of the real
cost of the food they eat, more and more turn to organic produce.
Ideally this is produced locally and often follows seasonal patterns.
Growing your own food is a natural extension of this idea, plus
it's fun, keeps you fit and saves you money. Whether you have an
allotment, town garden or containers on a balcony or patio, an interesting
and varied selection of vegetables, fruit and herbs can be grown
successfully and cropped for fresh use or stored for later.
This
course will look at the ways in which you can use your space to
its best advantage, and give you lots of tips for creating a productive
and beautiful kitchen garden.
The course
includes:
-
soil
preparation - different methods and ideas
-

onion sets, chitting potatoes, hardening off
-
