Renewable energy systems combined with low-energy building design can result in eco-homes that have minimal energy costs and low carbon emissions. This course takes you through the steps of assessing which options are most appropriate for your home, including selecting which technologies to use, typical system sizes, capital and running costs and resulting carbon emissions. The focus of the course is on renewable energy sources for domestic energy use, and it is relevant to those buying a new home, self-builders, and to existing homeowners. The course is run by Sandra Hayes, of the National Energy Foundation - consulting engineers specialising in sustainable energy solutions.
