| Why
make your own skin-care products when you can buy them? Well, to
start with, many commercial producers use harsh chemical additives
and preservatives, and the raw materials used are often derived
from sources that are ethically and ecologically unsound —
usually to meet the demands for standardisation set by the cosmetics
industry. The course is run by Madelaine Stuckey of Natural Empathy, a natural and organic skin care company based in the North East. Students will learn the benefits of natural skincare and have the opportunity to make some of their own. Morning - theory An exploration of the ingredients used in organic beauty products and their effects on the body. Ingredients covered include vegetable oils, floral waters, essential oils and butters. Afternoon - practical session We demonstrate how to make a moisturiser; make your own lip balm, massage oil, bath salts. All students will receive
