what you can do

Would you like the world to be more sustainable, fairer, happier, more beautiful and more democratic? It's not a silly question – a lot of people (possibly most) are still more concerned with their own personal gain. And do you think we're moving in the wrong direction, but don't know what you as an individual can do about it?

Maybe you feel tiny compared to governments or powerful institutions. But if millions of us change the way we live, it can begin to make a real difference. And millions of people are changing. Come on, there's a lot we can all do right now; let us help you.

Find a subject that interests you on our topics page. Depending on the topic you will find factsheets, books, courses, products for sale, links, plus other relevant information to get you going (with more stuff being added all the time). You don't have kill yourself by trying to do everything at once – just one topic at a time will do.

information

Our factsheets provide basic information on our topics.
Each sheet has four sections:

  • what is it?
  • what are the benefits?
  • what can I do?
  • resources - suppliers, books, websites, courses etc.

We also publish books, and sell hundreds of others, providing more detailed information.

Our links page has more information - plus suppliers, installers, manufacturers, grants and trade organisations.
And you can chat with like-minded people, and ask specific question on our forums.

training

The next step is to come on a course, and learn how to do-it-yourself. The courses are accessible, reasonably priced, and the tutors are friendly and down-to-earth. You can ask specific questions, and meet like-minded people.
Accommodation and food is provided, as well as tea / coffee / beers & wine.

products

We are adding more and more products to our online shop. We are linking up with small-scale manufacturers and suppliers to bring you value-for-money, environmentally-friendly products, together with technical information, and advice on installation and grants.

and finally...

You can help LILI to make a difference by becoming a 'friend of LILI', or by volunteering with us.

Or why not warm up by going WWOOFing?
