grow it!
Is the grow-it-yourself movement running out of steam? Has the furore of the past few years reached its zenith? In short, not in the slightest! Sales of vegetable seeds continue to outstrip those of flowers with one well-known seed company, at least, reporting a sustained 70:30 split in sales. Many tentative gardeners have this year taken their first steps in producing home-grown goodness, setting aside a small area for a few rows of salads, a courgette plant and perhaps some runner beans, while the mainstream press continues to devote teaser articles to tempt novices into the feel-good world of kitchen gardening.
