Learn how to use this magic carbonating material while rendering a mobile demonstration structure. Lime is a traditional building material used for pointing, rendering, paving and as building blocks. On this course you will learn the theory behind using lime as render, get hands-on experience of working with it and learn the benefits of this material for sustainable construction.

Amazonails have many years of experience in sustainable construction, so expect all your questions to be answered!

Points covered include:

  • the environmental benefits of using lime
  • differences between lime and cement
  • the chemical reaction behind its magic
  • health & safety specific to lime
  • hands-on experience of lime rendering onto straw
  • tools you need and how to use them
  • creating a friendly building site

This course and clay rendering are run on consecutive days, so that you can do them individually, or have a go at both in the same weekend.
