organic vegetable growing

The course is aimed at people who are interested in starting to grow their own vegetable and salad crops. It aims to provide the theoretical background as well as the necessary practical skills for course participants to get started on their own plots. We will look at tools and tool safety, soil types, prerequisites for optimum plant health and the management of pests and diseases.

The course will include a tour of our growing areas and practical tasks in sowing and transplanting and other seasonal jobs.

Please wear suitable clothing for the practical session. Sturdy footwear such as boots or wellies are recommended as well as protection from the weather, i.e. sun protection or waterproofs. Gardening gloves
will be provided.
