one-day course

walking-stick making

location: Sheffield

A one day class in the basic skills involved in making your own sticks. No experience needed but a willingness and ability to use hand tools is essential. Most of the people who come have never made a stick before, but everyone goes home with a complete stick they have made! Anyone with a bit of stickmaking knowledge who would like to improve and learn some new tricks is also welcome.

Everyone who attends learns how to straighten a stick and attach a handle to it.  You will be using a range of tools and knives to make a hiking or thumb stick in wood.
