location: Stroud, GloucestershireThis is a course for any aspiring self-builder or anyone with their own project in mind or who loves building things out of wood. We’ll be experimenting with roundwood timber frame joints, techniques and general timber management skills. You’ll also have a 1:1 design & planning consultation to help you design your own project. The course is held at our lovely woodyard. Fresh home-grown organic food is prepared onsite by our chef, and camping is in the woodland behind the yard. On completion of the course join our email list to volunteer on commercial or charitable building projects. The course is run by Adrian Leaman, woodsman, natural builder, all-round good guy and long-time friend of everyone at LILI. ‘Round’ wood is young coppiced trees, not sawn or squared, sometimes with the bark still on.
