herbal healing traditions and simple remedies

location: Swanmore, Hampshire

This day course looks at the traditional use of herbs in both East and West and how these approaches can be applied to family healthcare. We shall make and taste simple remedies for home use, such as teas and syrups and the course also covers suggestions for treating everyday ailments including common colds, coughs, and digestive upsets.

Course fees include: course folder, printed notes, teas, coffees, cold drinks, and lunch. Lunch includes a choice of salads, quiches, vegetarian options, cheese and fruit.

Tutor Penelope Ody has been exploring the fascinating world of herbs for almost 30 years, studying initially with the School of Phytotherapy in Kent, and also at the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Guangzhou, China. She practiced as a consultant medical herbalist in Buckinghamshire for 11 years whilst also writing regularly about herbs and editing The Herb Society’s various journals from 1988-1994.
