Drawing on his experience of forestry, conservation and community action, your course tutor Robin Walter will explain the Transition Town model of social change and how trees can support this change. Trees and woods can contribute in many ways, providing protection, regulating pollution and as natural habitats; as places of recreation, health and wellbeing; and not least providing timber, fuel, food and other products. This course will be of particular interest to town planners, arborists and tree officers as well as to all those interested in trees generally and their increasing role and importance in the modern socio-economic climate of our country. Robin Walter is a Chartered Forester who has worked for estates, private owners, the Woodland Trust, commercial contractors and in arboriculture. The cost of the course includes a delicious two course homemade vegetarian lunch.
