A mischievous weekend to get up to all the naughty things you are not allowed to do at home. Get dirty, mess about with fires, use sharp tools, sleep outdoors, eat weird things and have some wicked fun! The syllabus this weekend sets the participants up with enjoyable, achievable tasks in a convivial camp atmosphere. Expect to learn some amazing new things, have a good craic around the campfire, make new friendships and spend meaningful ‘father & son’ time (or uncle/nephew etc), out in a beautiful wildwood setting. There will also be time for some potent stories told by storyteller ‘Spindle Wayfarer’, pertinent to the father/son relationship. Based on a highly successful blend of nature awareness and bushcraft, this course makes the most of our interest and curiosity for the natural world. The aim is to give you new skills, to deepen your relationship to nature and breed a new confidence to continue to discover it for yourselves. Most of all, this programme aims to deliver a hugely enjoyable experience to all. The activities on this camp are most suitable for boys aged 6yrs and older. Evening meals, breakfasts and teas and coffee are included, but you will need to bring your own lunches. Cooking utensils, big pots and pans will be provided and there is a large campfire, plus a small gas stove for back up. 2-3 person tents or a communal tipi tent are available if required. Event Leader - Chris Salisbury, worked for many years as an education officer for Devon Wildlife Trust. With a background in the theatre, a training in therapy and a career in environmental education he uses every creative means at his disposal to encourage people to enjoy and value the natural world. He has worked with Ray Mears and John Rhyder, amongst many others. dates: see 'book online' below
