one-day course

school for extraordinary kids (8-12 years)


location: nr Totnes, Devon

A day of challenges, skills, crafts, foraging, cooking and adventures for kids who love messing about in the woods, dreaming of forest rogues or bandit queens.

Each day will focus on different activities, drawing upon bushcraft, fieldcraft and nature awareness and including firecraft, wild food foraging and campfire cookery, natural cordage and weaving, creative decorations, natural remedies, potions and lotions.

course leader:

Chris Salisbury worked for many years as an education officer for Devon Wildlife Trust. With a background in the theatre, a training in therapy and a career in environmental education he uses every creative means at his disposal to encourage people to enjoy and value the natural world. He has worked with Ray Mears and John Rhyder, amongst many others.
