Who wants to help resurrect the Straw Bale Building Association?

Who wants to help resurrect the Straw Bale Building Association?

    Dear all,

This is an open invitation to a meeting to discuss the resurrection of the Straw Bale Building Association (For Wales Ireland Scotland England).

The old association slipped into disuse, and we lack a collective body.

It would be great to get a cross section of the straw building community involved. Including grassroots enthusiasts, practitioners, academics & architects.

For now the aim is to come together to reform the association and decide how we can collectively further our industry.

The association could be used in the future to:

    * Promote the use of straw as building material
    * Share the collective knowledge to create better buildings
    * Be a directory of straw related organisations to better connect interested parties
    * Host an annual straw bale building conference

For now we are gathering emails of people wanting to be involved in the initial meeting, and hopefully further.

    Please sign up here.

To ensure we get the widest possible range of ideas from within the straw building world, please forward this to anyone you think may be interested.

    Thank you

Hi Helen – what’s your overall vision for your one planet development? Personally, I can’t think of anything nicer to live in than a strippable house.

    We welcome questions.

There’s a crash coming – a slap from Mother Nature. This isn’t pessimistic; it’s realistic.

The human impact on nature and on each other is accelerating and needs systemic change to reverse.

We’re not advocating poverty, or a hair-shirt existence. We advocate changes that will mean better lives for almost everyone.
