residential weekend course (camping)

family bushcraft

venue: Wholewoods, Sussex

Discover the art of woodland living in the Ashdown Forest. Travel back in time, play a few games, and then relax around the campfire. We will explore skills perfected by our ancestors and experiment with knowledge refined by generations of people before us, from the hunter-gatherers to Robin Hood.

Many of these techniques were second nature to our ancestors and are now enjoying a revival as a fun and intriguing way to explore camping and countryside travel. Camping overnight, all meals, drinks and snacks are provided. A family weekend at our new site in the Ashdown Forest in Sussex, an area of outstanding natural beauty with streams, deer, badgers and glow-worms. No experience needed.

This is a special family course for adults and kids.

Skills covered will include:

  • shelter building
  • fire lighting
  • outdoor cooking
  • working safely with knives
  • whittling
  • games
