wild food walk

start point: train station, Totnes

Join us for an evening walk, foraging for edible and useful plants.

Whilst we teach very practical knowledge on our forages we do this in a relaxed atmosphere, ensuring that you learn a lot, but also have a really good time. We help you to identify plants that you might see every day and wonder if they are edible or what other uses they may have. Every plant tells a bit of a story and it is this story that helps you remember what the plant can be used for. By the end of the day you will have been taught about somewhere between 50 and 100 plants, and not only their edible and medicinal uses but their history and folklore too.

The foraging walks are ideal for everyone - first-time foragers looking for that extra bit of confidence or experienced foragers looking to increase their repertoire of plant knowledge.

The course is conducted by Andy or Dave Hamilton - wild food writers, founders of the wonderful Selfsufficientish website, authors of the Selfsufficientish Bible, and foragers for the Eden Project.

Start time 7pm, until 9pm.

Meeting point is Totnes train station.

Sensible walking shoes/boots are strongly advisable. Many people also benefit from bringing waterproof clothing or an umbrella, notepad and camera.
