one-day course

basket weaving

location: nr York, North Yorkshire

Learn to prepare and select willow, create the base using a pairing weave, insert uprights and master 'three-rod wale' weave for the sides, finally choosing one of two borders to finish.

Discuss how these methods can be used in the garden to create planters and raised beds.

If there is enough time left participants can use the offcuts of willow to make a willow star wall decoration.

The course tutor is Diana Hammill.
