    Braziers Park is a community, a residential college and an architectural treasure hidden deep in the south Oxfordshire countryside in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It was founded in 1950 as an educational trust, and is a continuing experiment in the advantages and problems of living in a group. Community members share responsibility for running the mansion house (a Grade II listed building), 55 acres of land and organic kitchen garden.

    Friday 24 to Monday 27 August Mini Indi Film Festival and Wider Community Weekend Save the Date! Following last year’s huge success we have another equally varied and compelling weekend of independent films, discussions with their makers and poetry, art, screen writing and drama workshops, games, outdoor and social activities with a big BBQ on Sunday night (including Veggie/Vegan) and bar.  There is also space to enjoy the beautiful grounds, quiet contemplation and good company.  All activities and meals are included for residential guests – book the whole long weekend or individual days at our 3 tier rates according to income – individual sessions are just £5 but booking is essential.     Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 September AND Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 November Screen Writing A four day course over two weekends aimed at emerging/budding screenwriters who wish to upgrade their skills and success rate in screenwriting and pitching to the film industry. Led by Carl Schoenfeld who has three decades of film industry experience as writer, director and producer. His award-winning productions with the BBC, Channel4/Film4, BFI, including BAFTA nominated ‘A Sarajevo Diary’ and ‘My Brother Tom’.   As a group we’ll explore the role of the screenplay in the film production process and develop strategies towards meeting professional expectations. Participants will develop their own strategy as the course examines film production as part of a wider web of film industry institutions, including financing, sales, marketing and distribution. Emerging screenwriters will learn how to understand the variety of agendas and expectations, make a business case, pitch their project, examine the role of the director and ‘talent’ and receive expert advice and coaching on their projects.  Times: 9.30 – 17.30 each day with some optional evening films.  Cost: £300 – both weekends, includes lunches and refreshments.
