Profile:
Clervaux Trust is a registered charity helping to build a sustainable future for young people with special educational needs through the use of a craft and land based programme that is practical, therapeutic, social and educational. We work with some of the most disadvantaged and disenfranchised young people in the North East, including those excluded from school and those needing long term care due to learning disabilities, mental health issues or complex social needs. As part of the wider Ruskin Mill Educational Trust, we provide care and training using a practical life skills curriculum and provides experiences that make young people feel valued, useful and skilful. Committed to sustainable methods of food production and land management, the farm at Clow Beck in Crof-on-Tees is certified biodynamic and organic by Demeter. We run a local veg box scheme in Darlington and the surrounding villages. During our lean time of the year, the hungry gap of March - June, we buy in from Organic Pantry. We try to prioritise UK produce first and then secondly from Europe to supplement the veg boxes and the veg stall. Please visit the Ruskin Mill Trust website, Clervaux Seasons veg box website and social media pages to learn more.
