    Profile:

Dorset Coppice Group was established in 1999 by a number of Dorset woodsmen who came together to form a local group in order to promote their products and services. In the last 19 years the Group has grown into a thriving community of people interested in preserving and maintaining our native woodlands. Whilst professional coppice workers still form the mainstay of the group, our members range from charcoal burners to bushcrafters, wildlife artists to woodturners, toddlers to woodland veterans! We are open to all who share our passion for woodlands and woodland crafts. We run a series of courses each year on topics related to coppicing and coppice crafts. These are open to both members & non-members alike, although members receive a 20% discount. The courses are run by experienced members who are skilled in the topic that they are teaching.

There’s a crash coming – a slap from Mother Nature. This isn’t pessimistic; it’s realistic.

The human impact on nature and on each other is accelerating and needs systemic change to reverse.

We’re not advocating poverty, or a hair-shirt existence. We advocate changes that will mean better lives for almost everyone.
