    Profile:

We're a woodland-based social enterprise with a mission to inspire outdoor learning. Why? Because we know the importance of a close connection with nature – and with like-minded people – for our health and wellbeing.

We create opportunities for people to get outside, experience nature first hand, have fun and learn new skills, through education and volunteering, workshops and parties. We teach traditional crafts and rural skills, from woodland management to whittling. And we aim to encourage and inspire a new generation to care for their environment.

All our profits go back into ensuring that our work can continue, helping us to reach out to more and more people. Our main focus is working with young people who struggle with traditional schooling. We work with them to show that there is an alternative, by introducing them to the opportunities the woodlands provide. You can support us by volunteering, coming along to one of our workshops, booking a birthday party, bringing your team, or simply making a donation.

So come along and join us around the campfire. You can soak up the nature, learn some new skills, and meet some new friends. And you'll be helping young people see that there are options for them, no matter what their experience has been.

    our ethos

We want you to learn, but most of all we want you to have fun! When you come to any of our activities, you'll find a roaring fire, a boiling kettle, biscuits for all and plenty of chat and laughter.

We might push you out of your comfort zone, but you'll end up being able to do things with an axe you didn't know were possible. And we're always up for a challenging debate, about the state of the world or the age old question, to dunk or not to dunk?

We can't guarantee the weather, but we'll always provide a warm welcome. Come along and find out for yourself!

     WORKSHOPS

Whether you’re an expert or a complete beginner, our workshops are made for you! You'll learn new skills, hone existing ones, or gain the techniques you need to move on to more complex creations. If you're looking for activities for all the family, take a look at our bushcraft days or - if its for the kids - check out wee skelfs.

We cover a wide range of activities, from axe craft to spoon carving. Expert green woodworker, and champion chatter, Paul, leads the workshops. Paul has years of tree-related experience, so he can tell you all about the wood you'll be working with to make your creation.

There’s a crash coming – a slap from Mother Nature. This isn’t pessimistic; it’s realistic.

The human impact on nature and on each other is accelerating and needs systemic change to reverse.

We’re not advocating poverty, or a hair-shirt existence. We advocate changes that will mean better lives for almost everyone.
