Plugging local activism into the wider context of alternative finance – with local currencies at its heart – the Independent Money Alliance links those of us working on the high-street frontline to academics, think tanks, pressure groups and political activists seeking to redefine the way we live and work with money. The IMA is a place to share and to imagine, a space in which disparate approaches to the modern monetary malaise may be investigated and combined. It is also a practical resource – an open-source kit that can fast-track local currency development and help boost campaigning momentum and sustainability.
