    Profile:

Moonacre Farm is a beautiful parcel of land near Kilmersdon between Frome and Radstock in Somerset, 22 acres of peace and quite. Home to Jersey cows, Portland sheep, chickens, ducks and pigs. Moonacre is the dream child of Dide and Steve Lucas who together with their daughters wanted to bring to people the best of foods grown and raised with love and respect. Using Bio-dynamic farming methods and the farm is seen as a holistic entity with all living things involved playing a vital role. People, animals, plants, land and the cosmos work together and bring a unique quality to what we produce. We use only organic seeds, compost to raise our plants and organic unprocessed and local feed for our animals. As far as possible the Bio-dynamic farm strives to be self- contained but we are lucky to be able to work closely with our local organic farmers when we need to import feedstuffs. Moonacre Farm can be found at local farmers markets with fresh veg, salad bags, plants and charcuterie. We have planted an orchard of apples, plums and pears and planted over a thousand native trees around the farm.

There’s a crash coming – a slap from Mother Nature. This isn’t pessimistic; it’s realistic.

The human impact on nature and on each other is accelerating and needs systemic change to reverse.

We’re not advocating poverty, or a hair-shirt existence. We advocate changes that will mean better lives for almost everyone.
