    Profile:

It all started back in the 60’s when Peter Wolfenden, came up with the idea of obtaining a sheet of polythene and putting eyelets in each corner. He used the sheet to cover stacked bales of hay to stop them being ruined by the rain before the farmers could get them indoors. The next development was to stretch this polythene (which in those early days was a very new and rare material) over steel hoops. These were among some of the very first polytunnels. Over the years we designed and developed structures and eventually we became Northern Polytunnels Fast forward to the present day… At Northern Polytunnels we pride ourselves on good customer service and on the quality of the products we manufacture and sell. Our staff can ensure you get the best service from one of the UK’s largest manufacturers. We aim to give great, honest customer service and to provide the highest quality of products. Our Team Our sales team have a wealth of horticultural product knowledge (which they love to share). They will ensure you get the right product for your individual requirements. Quality When our customers are looking to invest in a polytunnel, we know they don’t want to replace it every other season. We only use the highest quality materials on all of our structures and we’re not afraid to shout about it. STEEL: 32mm in diameter or (as requested by some of our highland customers) our super strength kit has 50mm. HOOPS: Manufactured in 2 pieces making them a much stronger alternative to the 3,4 and even 5 sections available from our competitors. FITTINGS: All manufactured with the same quality as our commercial fittings. POLYTHENE: High quality, manufactured for the UK climate and comes with a 5-7 year guarantee. …Not to mention over 40 years experience in the design and manufacture of polytunnels.

There’s a crash coming – a slap from Mother Nature. This isn’t pessimistic; it’s realistic.

The human impact on nature and on each other is accelerating and needs systemic change to reverse.

We’re not advocating poverty, or a hair-shirt existence. We advocate changes that will mean better lives for almost everyone.
