Handmade Garden Pots, Ceramics & Classes in Pottery Throwing and Pot Making

John Huggins, together with his family, make traditional handthrown terracotta garden plant pots and contemporary ceramics in the Forest of Dean, England. A selection of these are available here on the website.

Visitors are welcomed at the pottery, which looks out over the lovely surrounding countryside of Gloucestershire, and beyond to the mountains of Wales. Alongside the workshop are displays of hand thrown garden pots and planters, and a gallery of ceramics.

Established in 1979, for many years John Huggins exhibited his work at Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower Shows. With almost 40 years of production throwing experience, John Huggins now offers a variety of pottery classes, from half-day & single day classes to weekend and week long courses in throwing and pot making. These classes are suitable for everyone, from complete beginners to experienced throwers. For more information about our pot throwing classes and to book, click on 'Learn To Throw'.

There’s a crash coming – a slap from Mother Nature. This isn’t pessimistic; it’s realistic.

The human impact on nature and on each other is accelerating and needs systemic change to reverse.

We’re not advocating poverty, or a hair-shirt existence. We advocate changes that will mean better lives for almost everyone.
