    Profile:

Electronic waste is one of the fastest growing waste streams in many countries including the UK. While recycling is important, we intervene before disposal – inspiring people to buy for longevity and to divert electronics from waste. The Restart Project is a London-based social enterprise that encourages and empowers people to use their electronics longer, by sharing repair and maintenance skills. Through community and workplace events we create engaging opportunities to extend the lifespan of electronics and electrical equipment. We spread our message through public speaking. We have been recognised by the Nominet Trust 100, London Sustainable Development Commission, Transition Network, Unltd, Lloyds Bank Social Entrepreneurs Programme and featured on BBC, AFP, The Telegraph and other international media.

There’s a crash coming – a slap from Mother Nature. This isn’t pessimistic; it’s realistic.

The human impact on nature and on each other is accelerating and needs systemic change to reverse.

We’re not advocating poverty, or a hair-shirt existence. We advocate changes that will mean better lives for almost everyone.
