    Profile:

    The Woodland Skills Centre is based in the heart of the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We have 50 acres of woodland with permanent Forest School sites, extensive workshops and a two timber-frame Centre buildings with meeting room, resource centre, kitchen and toilet, sheepswool insulation, lime plaster, wood-burner and photo-voltaic roof making it a model of sustainable construction. We run a range of courses in traditional crafts, bushcraft courses, family holidays and courses for youth and community groups as well as Mindfulness courses as part of our health and well-being programme. Woodland Skills Centre is owned by Warren Woods Ltd, a community-owned, not-for-profit Social Enterprise company. We run a wide range of courses in coppice and green wood crafts, longbows, coracles, timberframe building, basket making, medicinal herbs, bushcraft, knife making, woodland management, art and craft etc. We also do events for children and families and run a big social prescribing programme working with people with a range of learning difficulties and physical and mental health issues. Our site extends to 50 acres and includes woodland, heritage orchard, arboretum, allotments, vineyard, wildflower meadow, apiary, polytunnels and workshops.
