One of greatest of British and indeed worldwide scientists of all time, Charles Darwin, spent 3 years on his monumentally important seminal work 'the Origin of the Species' in which he outlined the revolutionary if much misunderstood theory often simplistically reduced to the phrase: "the survival of the fittest". What is less well known than this is that he spent ten years prior on the study of worms and published the book 'The formation of vegetable mould through the action of worms with observations on their habits'. Ten years on worms and composting and 3 years on the rest of life on the planet seems quite reasonable to us, but then we are a specialist and dedicated wormery and worm composting Company. We started work on this business over 25 years ago in the mid 1980s when the word wormery (as it pertains to composting) hadn't even been coined. Having read of the works of some dedicated pioneers of organic gardening including Jack Temple and his publications through the HDRA (now the National Centre for Organic Gardening), we saw an exciting opportunity to make worm composting easy and available to all gardeners and householders. In truth all we have done is examined nature, learned from earlier experts and devised simple and efficient methods and systems for the lowly worm to be harnessed to help us deal with the apparently mundane but in reality vital issue of dealing with the food waste of the 9 billion of us on this little planet. It might sound a tad conceited to say that we know that we have an excellent value wormery to meet your needs but we sincerely believe this to be as near to a self-evident truth (with apologies to the American constitution) as to be virtually beyond doubt. We have several competitors who have set up after us to offer their version of wormeries. Some are cheap and tacky, some reasonable - and some like us offer good products at good prices and we are happy to acknowledge this on the basis that mimicry is a sincere form of flattery. At the end of the day we welcome competitors and the more wormeries in use the better for all of us and our environment. Even so we are truly proud to claim our, so far, not credibly disputed explicit claim, to offer the best value and most efficient wormeries available in Europe today.
