Faircatch is a Community Supported Fishery or fish box scheme that brings super-fresh, sustainable fish to south-west London, direct from fishermen. We pay them a fair price for their catch and support only those using low-impact, environmentally-sound fishing methods. Our fish is often only hours out of the water and our aim is to encourage our membership to eat a wider range of locally-caught species, which is good for fish stocks. Because we only buy the exact weight that our members have ordered, we create zero food waste and sourcing as locally as possible keeps food miles to a minimum. We provide complete traceability from boat to plate and promote a fairer, more sustainable, local food system.

We also offer practical, fishy, food education sessions in local schools where the aim is to give children a stronger connection with the source of their food and show them how a fish gets to their plate. We talk about the fishermen and their families that supply Faircatch, species found in our coastal waters, sustainability in seafood and the health benefits of eating fish, as well as demonstrating scaling, gutting and filleting different species for the children to cook and taste.
Faircatch offers collection or delivery in three areas in Wandsworth, Battersea and Southfields/Wimbledon on a Friday afternoon and evening.

We also try and lend our support to a number of campaigns around sustainability issues in the food sector such as food education, local sourcing and food waste. We’d be enormously grateful for any support on social media in the form of sharing our posts or re-tweeting our tweets.
